Chobe Chilwero borders the Chobe National Park, which is the second largest national park in Botswana covering an area of 10,566 km². Chilwero, means “place of high view” in the local language of Setswana. The lodge sits above the Chobe River and offers unparalleled panoramic views across the islands and flood plains as far as Namibia. The main public area includes a lounge and dining room, which are linked to outdoor viewing patios. The wine cellar is temperature controlled and houses a large variety of the finest South African and European wines. A range of spa treatments are offered at Chobe Chilwero, which are usually done inroom but may also be set up at the swimming pool. Chobe Chilwero has 15 stone & thatched bungalows, 6 king and 9 twin. Each cottage measures 61 square metres and has its own en-suite bathroom with a large sunken bath, indoor and outdoor showers, private garden with hammock, “sala” or private balcony, mosquito nets, ceiling fans, air-conditioning, hairdryer, minibar as well as an in-room safe.
