Savute Under Canvas - Chobe, Botswana
Carefully positioned in exclusive semi permanent camps in central Chobe National Park, is the elegant Savute Under Canvas tented camp. Featuring just six superlative ensuite safari tents, Savute Under Canvas allows guests to experience the pristine beauty of Botswana and its unrivalled wildlife at its best. During the rainy season, Savute, a famous corner of Chobe National Park hosts the annual zebra migration, which peaks in January and February when the zebra and wildebeest congregate in vast numbers to graze on the sweeter grasses brought on by the rains. It is not uncommon to also catch sight of leopard, cheetah and African wild dog. Savute also supports the greatest concentration of the king of all beasts – the lion. The landscape of Savute is strikingly different from the lush Chobe riverfront, with an almost desert–like feeling that has animals escaping the heat by grouping together in the limited available shade. Each semi permanent tent boasts a double bed, ensuite bathroom, separate w.c. and hot water bucket shower – this is the ultimate in luxury camping. The guest areas comprise comfortable tents for dining, meeting for a pre-dinner drink, or just for whiling the time away between safaris – complete with private butler service, delicious Pan African meals, and traditional bush dinners served under the stars. Activities include exhilarating; twice-daily game drives in semi-open 4x4 safari vehicles.
