Honeymoon: Kapama River Lodge (South Africa)
Date of Travel: April 2009 “Hi Anza,
Thank you so much for suggesting Kapama River Lodge as a honeymoon destination. Our 3 nights there were fantastic and extremely relaxing; it felt like we were away for a week. The airport transfer to the lodge in an open top game vehicle set the scene immediately. Our room was immaculate, modern and spacious with endless views over the game reserve, the staff were friendly, helpful and made our private dinner experience special, the ranger and guide were exceptionally informative and managed to find 4 of the big 5 for us (the guide even managed to spot chameleons in the dark! on all three night game drives). We would certainly recommend (already have) Kapama River Lodge to friends as a honeymoon destination or for a truly South African safari experience.
I have attached a couple of photos.
Kind regards,
Nic and Yolanda”

Honeymoon: Le Mauricia Hotel (Mauritius)
Date of Travel: March 2009
“Hi Anza
The hotel rooms were very comfortable, the food was excellent and the service was very friendly. We were greeted at the airport and transferred to our hotel in an air-conditioned bus. The resort included many water sports and activities and they were willing to assist us in anything else we needed (from the booking of catamaran cruises and additional water sports like para-sailing, to the hiring of scooters to tour the island). They even offered to pack us a picnic basket if we were going to miss lunch because we had planned an outing outside the hotel. One of the bonuses we weren’t expecting is that your meals and facilities are inter-changeable at other Beachcomber resorts, which meant we could enjoy things beyond only Le Mauricia hotel. Thanks again for everything you did; I won’t hesitate to recommend you (or Le Mauricia hotel) to other people looking at the same trip.
Regards,
Justin”

Honeymoon: Kosi Forest Lodge (KwaZulu Natal, South Africa

"Hi Anza
Sorry for late rely.
Kosi Forest Lodge was absolutely fantastic. I would highly recomend the Lodge. It was just perfect for our honeymoon, the location is remote, quiet and very pretty. The tented camp was luxurious and the outdoor bathroom a real treat. The staff were warm and welcoming and made us feel as though we were old friends. The food was superb and dining under African night skies was spectacular. Well recomended by yourself. Thank you. You are welcome to use my feedback.
Kind Regards
Kerry Earl"

Honeymoon: Zimbali Lodge and Mkuze Falls Game Lodge (KwaZulu Natal, South Africa)
Date of Travel: June 2008
"Hi Anza,
We got back on Saturday. Still fairly tired.
We arranged our own accommodation between Sat 7th June and Monday 16th June. Mount Nelson 7th - 11th - fantastic hotel, with a really helpful concierge. Misty Waves, Hermanus 11th-13th - peculiar hotel, with peculiar staff!! Lake Pleasant 13th-14th - very quite little spot, very nice. Bayview Hotel, Plett 14th-15th - Bland hotel. we were going to stay in the Plettenberg, but it was too far away from main street. Millbrook B&B, St Francis Bay 15th-16th. - charming little B&B with really nice hostess.
Zimbali was good. The weather was awful for 2 of the days though. The restaurant staff were really nice, as were the butlers. Our concierge was a complete disappointment though. She offered no help at all - compounded even more when we compared her to the concierge we had in the Nellie. Due to the weather being so bad I believe the concierge should have offered more. We were left to our devices. But we still enjoyed ourselves. The restaurant food was good. It was excellent for breakfast. The lunch menu and dinner menu didn't change while we were there; we actually went up to Ballito for dinner one evening to break the monotony. But the food itself was very nice. Overall it was a nice place, with nice staff. Unfortunately the weather meant we didn't enjoy it as much.
Mkuze Falls was absolutely fantastic. We were spoilt for 5 days. the weather was good, the food was excellent, the staff were friendly, the rooms were serviced 3 times daily. As for the safari itself; that was top drawer. Our ranger, Sipho, was amazing. On our last safari (there was no one else with us on our last drive) he got us to see Lions, then he brought us for walk through the forest. we went up to where the leopards had their dens. I'm so glad we left this till last.. we even felt a bit depressed leaving it. We got such a good feeling throughout our stay there. The dinner menu changed every evening; and each menu was personalised. Also, after each evening drive there was a bath ran for us in our chalet by the time we returned... and the water was the perfect temperature each evening! All the staff were so friendly and helpful. They even washed my car without asking, or telling me. I just happened to see it being washed. The drives were all so good; and each one was special. The highlight though was seeing the 3 lions having an impala for breakfast one morning!!
I don't mean to moan about Zimbali. But we were just unlucky with the weather. I just feel I need to be honest about it.
I'm glad we were in Zimbali when the weather was bad though, rather than Mkuze Falls... I'm glad the safari wasn't spoilt.
It was a fantastic honeymoon. We even saw whales in De Kelders and Plett, and in Hermanus.
The food was excellent; I put on 6kilos...but I needed to, so I'm glad.
The wine was excellent too; we visited some vineyards out in Stellenbosch and Paarl.
Thanks so much for organizing everything; all your advice was greatly appreciated; and it made the whole experience so much better.
Colin"

South Africa Vacation: Mabula Game Lodge (Waterberg), Table Bay Hotel (Cape Town), Rovos Rail Journey (Cape Town to Pretoria), Irene Country Lodge (Pretoria)
Date of Travel: June 2008
"Dear Anza,
Thank you so much for organising our 'holiday of a lifetime' in South Africa.
The initial 4 days at Mabula Game Lodge was an adventure that neither of us had ever experienced. The expertise and professionalism of Peter Kgokane (Senior Ranger) allowed us to view 4 of the big five at reasonably close quarters, and the friendliness of all the staff made our stay in Mabula a real joy.
The Table Bay Hotel in Cape Town was second to none, and we really enjoyed our stay there. However, meeting up with your in-laws Johan and Marietjie and subsequently your good self, Dawie and young Johann made our stay a most delightful occasion. You all made us feel very welcome and we thank you very much for that.
The two day experience on Rovos Rail put us in mind of the movies that we have seen about the 'Orient Express' railway, and the service and luxury offered was superb. The food on the train was a little rich for our taste, but nothing was too much trouble for the excellent staff.
Finishing off in Irene Country Lodge, Pretoria was a good idea so that we could rest up before our flight home, however, you should know that the restaurant staff were very experienced in this establishment and we had a very nice evening there before a visit to Lesedi Village prior to leaving Johannesburg.
Once again, many thanks,
Kate and Keith Morison"

Wedding & Honeymoon: Ngorongoro Crater Lodge (Ngorongoro Crater - Tanzania) Date of Travel: May 2008
"Hi Anza, Yes we are still on a high from our trip and our stay in Tanzania was definitely our biggest highlight. It was unforgettable and we fitted in very comfortably with the staff there. I was crying when we had to leave as I will dearly miss all that were close and helped us during our stay. The staff, the accommodation, the food, the care and attention was at its utmost perfection. I wanted to pack it all in my suitcase and go home! I look through our wedding photos and I have never seen me smile and laugh so much in one day. Howard is also over the moon with it all and would agree with me with all of the above said. The Egypt tour was different and there were a lot of ups and downs with that. All we can say is that we are thankful that we had time in Tanzania to make up for some of the moments we lost for the rest of our trip. I would certainly recommend the Crater Lodge as an A+++++ to anyone who asks. Just a pity that it takes a lot of traveling to get there or we would make it a yearly visit!
Juanita"

Honeymoon: Darlington Lake Lodge (Addo, Eastern Cape - South Africa)
Date of Travel: May 2008
"Hi Anza
Wow!!! Thank you so much for organizing our honeymoon, what a treat! The lodge was brilliant, it was only us in the lodge for 2 days and was really special. They treated us really well and gave us space when we needed it and entertainment when we wanted it. Toto and Lauren were really lovely hosts. Being able to walk around in the bush without a guide was really special and we loved it. The Elephant Safari is a must for all honeymooners- it's a magical, moving experience and definitely the highlight for both of us, thank you. Only one thing about Darlington, their Jetty is under construction so it wasn't as great as we thought it would be. Didn't bother us too much because Toto took us on a lot of game drives and showed us the workings of the dam. (brilliant for my plumber husband!) The honeymoon suite is lovely and beautifully decorated, an oasis amongst rustic buildings and communal dining areas. If you pop your head out your bedroom window early in the morning you can see the Kudu having a nap on the lavender bushes! Brilliant! We felt like we'd been away for months isolated from everything a city offers- no cell phones, phones, traffic noises... just us, the bush, birds and buck. Lovely. I'll send you photos as soon as I can.
Thanks again for all you did,
Andrea"

Honeymoon: Sabi Sabi Selati Lodge & Earth Lodge (South Africa) & Flamingo Bay Lodge (Mozambique)
Date of Travel: April 2008
"Hi Anza,
Just a brief note to thank you for organizing our amazing honeymoon to run smoothly. It was even better than I imagined. Will sort out photos when we get back home and send you some copies.
Thanks Phillip and Joanne"
"Our honeymoon was a safari and beach combination. We started off with 4 nights in Sabi Sabi private game park - the first 2 nights were in the Selati camp and the next 2 nights at the Earth Lodge. We had a very special time here and saw lots of game on our game drives. We then went to the beach in Mozambique at the very romantic Flamingo Bay lodge. Our room was on the water and we spent lots of time on the beach and in the warm Indian ocean. We had more than our fill of fresh seafood including fresh Mozambique prawns."
