Activities

On safari at Kulala Wilderness Camp desert lodge in the Namib Desert (Sossusvlei) in Namibia, you will enjoy excursions to Sossusvlei & Sesriem Canyon, the Namib-Naukluft Park, guided walks, sundowner scenic drives, and balloon safaris at an additional cost. The area is mainly known for physical beauty and some of the highest dunes in the world. This is not a game viewing area, but there are fairly good sightings of Oryx. Springbok, Cape Fox, Jackal, Bat-eared Foxes and Aardwolf. Plant species are desert adapted and spectacular especially the unusual moringa and quiver trees.

Lodge

Kulala Wilderness Camp is situated in the heart of Namibia's Namib Desert on a 21,000-acre private reserve near Sossusvlei. The camp is built at the foot of a rock escarpment, facing west with great sunset views in the mountainous eco-system of this area. The main area is elevated under thatch and offers a homely and intimate atmosphere with a sparkling swimming pool, dining room, curio shop and bar area. The interiors are simple yet comfortable. Traditional 3 course meals are served at dinner. At night lanterns light the main area.

Accommodation

The camp comprises of 10 Meru style tents on elevated wooden decks with stone en-suite bathrooms. A staircase leading up to the flat rooftop above the bathroom provides the ideal setting to sleep under the stars on a provided bedroll. Fans in the tents ensure a cool breeze.  Your safari at Kulala Wilderness Camp desert lodge will be an unforgettable experience.
