Day 01:
Depart Johannesburg on a 2-hour Federal Air charter flight to Phinda Private Game Reserve.
The reserve is situated in the lush Maputaland region in northern KwaZulu-Natal. Seven distinct habitats shelter an abundance of wildlife including Africa’s Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, black and white rhino, buffalo) and over 380 bird species.

You have a choice between Vlei Lodge and Rock Lodge. Vlei Lodge is intimate and elegant. This exquisite lodge comprises six thatched suites with en suite bathrooms, dressing rooms, private plunge pools and decks which overlook the vlei (wetland system) where you’re likely to observe herds of grazing antelope, zebra and a dazzling variety of birdlife. Rock Lodge comprises six stone and adobe suites with en suite bathrooms, private sitting areas, decks and plunge pools offering unrivalled views of the valley below.

Day 02:
After your early morning game drive, enjoy a hearty breakfast. The nature walk after breakfast is optional. Delicious Pan-African cuisine is served to you on the game-viewing decks, or in a dramatic bush setting near the lodge. Relax at the lodge. Set off on your afternoon/evening game drive before returning for an African bush boma dinner at the lodge.

Day 03:
After your early morning game drive and breakfast, check out. Depart on a 30-minute charter flight to Thonga Beach Lodge.
Thonga Beach lodge is the ideal place to discover one of the last unspoilt and undeveloped wilderness beaches left on the African continent. It is a magical place of tranquil swimming bays and snorkelling reefs, coastal forests, grasslands, bush, shimmering lakes and exquisite sandy beaches. Its crystal clear, warm waters offer superb snorkelling and fantastic offshore scuba diving. It is in the heart of the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park, an internationally recognized World Heritage Site. The swimming pool and central lodge area is 25m from the beach. The rooms vary between 30m and 120m from the beach. Lake Sibiya (Southern Africa’s largest natural freshwater lake) is 6km from the lodge. The lodge has 12 suites in Robinson Crusoe-chic.

Day 04, 05, 06:
Spend your days enjoying the activities at the lodge.
Activities included: Canoeing on Lake Sibiya, sundowners at Lake Sibiya, snorkelling, seasonal turtle walks and forest walks.
Activities excluded (to be pre-booked): scuba diving, open ocean experience (dolphin & whale watching), turtle tracking (seasonal), and rejuvenating treatments at the spa, a visit to a local Tsonga cultural village, surf fishing or fly-fishing.

Day 07:
After breakfast, check out. Depart on a 30-minute charter flight back to Phinda. From Phinda, take the 2-hour Federal Air direct flight back to Johannesburg. On arrival at OR Tambo International (Johannesburg), own arrangements.
