Your experienced game ranger and local Shangaan tracker are keen to share with you their extensive knowledge and love of the African bush – the highlight of your safari at Elephant Plains Game Lodge in the Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve, South Africa, is the thrill of discovering wildlife from the safety of open vehicles. The 4-wheel drive vehicles enable the rangers to drive off-road and provide you with up close game viewing and great photographic opportunities. The day starts with an early morning game drive, then after breakfast a bush walk gives you the opportunity to learn about the smaller wonders of the veldt. During the afternoon game drive you will stop at a carefully selected venue to enjoy a sun-downer whilst watching the sun set over the awe-inspiring wilderness, before continuing on a night drive using spotlights to look for nocturnal animals.
Lodge
The lodge is situated on the banks of the Manyeleti River offering unforgettable views of sunrise and sunset across the plain. The pool deck overlooks the watering hole opposite the camp where animals come to drink daily. The main lodge houses the reception, dining room, bar/lounge, wine cellar, and library and curio shop. Breakfast and lunch are served buffet style in the dining room and evening meals are served around a fire in the boma. You can also come and relax in the African Health Spa, let yourself be pampered by the qualified somatolegist in a beautiful Africa setting.

The lodge comprises six luxury exclusive open-plan suites – each have a lounge, double bedroom, en suite bathroom (inside/outside shower) and a private sun-deck that offers spectacular views over the riverbed. All luxury suites feature air-conditioning, overhead fans, wood fires, mosquito nets and a safe. One suite has been specially prepared to accommodate disabled guests. The lodge also features five standard thatched chalets tastefully decorated with an African theme. Every chalet has its own distinct character and comfortable charm, and looks out over the beautiful landscaped garden.
