The Skeleton Coast Park is the northern part of the Namib Naukluft Park and is very dry.  There are a lot of shipwrecks along this coast because of the rough sea.  The northern part of the Skeleton Coast is really an unspoiled wilderness with rare and threatened desert elephants.  You will find mostly a rocky desert and dunes north of Swakopmund and sandy desert on the beach south of Swakopmund. This area offers seals, birds, jackal, brown hyaena, and the desert elephant.
