The sand dunes of Sossusvlei are one of the world’s most amazing sights and the highest in the world. This remote region is about 300km away from any main highway, but well worth a visit. The park is open from sunup to sundown and you will need a permit to enter the park. The Dead Vlei (a salt encrusted dry lake) is about 1km away from Sossusvlei and also well worth visiting. Dune 45 is not far from the entry gate and also well worth climbing to the top. Stunning pictures can be taken on this dune and in this park. Sossusvlei is definitely a must-see on any itinerary!!!
